- Production of secreted protein products from non-adherent or adherent cell lines on a large scale. This method is recommended for > 1 gram quantities of monoclonal antibodies or recombinant proteins expressed in mammalian or insect cell systems. The service includes adaptation and optimization of the cell line in serum free media. The finished product may be shipped to the client as a concentrate or may be purified on request.

Purification of Cell Culture Products
Murine Monoclonal Antibodies
Cell culture derived monoclonal antibodies can be purified by the following methods:
- Protein A - Catalog# 9990-0860
- Protein G - Catalog# 9990-0871
- Ion Exchange - Catalog# 9990-0874
- Custom - Catalog# 9990-9990
Antibodies are concentrated and dialyzed into PBS with 0.1% sodium azide or a client specified buffer followed by 0.2um filtration. In process samples may be shipped to the client upon written request. The product is packaged, labeled and shipped as detailed in the client specific custom service plan.
Recombinant Proteins
Recombinant proteins can be purified using methods and materials provided by the client or a custom procedure can be developed by BPI. Purification of histidine-tagged and GST-tagged proteins is also available.
Details for a custom purification, including finished product testing, finished product specifications and project completion time lines are incorporated into a customer specific custom service plan.
Standard finished product testing includes SDS-PAGE & Total protein by OD 280nm. If required, additional testing such as western blot, IEF and bioburden can be performed. The customer may also supply kits or reagents to perform activity testing if necessary.
Our approach to large scale in vitro production:
We strongly believe that for most human, mammalian and insect cell lines a small 3-5 gm lot size should be produced before large scale production (20-200 gms) is attempted. Small pilot lots allow for development of a protocol customized for a specific cell line and insure the best price structure for large scale production.
