C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Antigen
CRP is a pentameric beta-glycoprotein (MW: 110Kd) that activates the alternate complement pathway when bound to the C-protein of pneumococci. Increased CRP is a non-specific phenomenon that accompanies all acute inflammations, infections and some malignancies.

Serum Amyloid A Antigen- (Custom)
SAA proteins (MW of ~11 Kd) are apolipoproteins (complexed to HDL) mainly expressed in hepatocytes as major acute-phase reactants. In vivo concentrations increase by 102-103 fold during inflammation. The physiological role of SAA is currently unknown, but they are thought to have roles in altered lipid flow during inflammation and may be involved in the pathogenesis of several inflammatory diseases.
